Cathy (Shepherd) Atchison

Biography

Cathy is a Charlevoix native who graduated from Charlevoix High School, earned a B.A. from Albion College in English, and an M.A. from Michigan State University in English and American Literature and Language. She had the opportunity to live in Utah, Florida, California, and Texas before returning to Michigan to become the Program Officer for the Charlevoix County Community Foundation in 2000. Over the years, she has been involved with numerous non-profit organizations and, along with her husband, Mike, founded the Northern Michigan Autism Association. Currently, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the Grain Train Natural Food Cooperative. Cathy and Mike have 2 children and live in Petoskey with their pug, Maple.
